Working Group on Repurposing Agricultural Support

Working Group on Repurposing Agricultural Support

The Working Group on Repurposing Public Support to Food & Agriculture is a multistakeholder platform convened by the JRT. It was established as a space for members to contribute ideas, coordinate support, and shape the development and implementation of the AT3 Solution Cluster focused on A Just Transition to Sustainable Agriculture through Policy Reform and Public Support.

The Working Group has evolved to become a platform for government officials, farmers, business, civil society organisations and technical experts to share emerging evidence and information, and connect with other stakeholders. It is viewed as a trusted space to raise awareness, share resources and facilitate more coordinated approaches to the repurposing agenda aligned with principles of just transitions of sustainable food systems transformation within a core group of its members.

Monthly meetings focus on key themes and topics, including how to make food systems transformation happen at the national level in a just manner; aligning the repurposing agenda across the three Rio Conventions; and the impact of public support to agriculture on biodiversity.
